Wow, it was another busy weekend over here at Boulder Creek Photography! On Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Alexis and Tyler’s gorgeous outdoor wedding at A Pocket Full of Sunshine in Mount Vernon, Illinois! They had so many wonderful friends and family celebrating them on their wedding day, it was so special! Even though it was a super hot and humid day, Alexis & Tyler still managed to have the time of their lives celebrating! I love it when I get to connect with my couples on a really genuine, sincere level– when I photograph them, it feels like photographing friends!

A & T met while playing corn hole, through mutual friends! How cute is that?! Alexis is a nurse, and Tyler is an electrician. They also have two cute pups- Tucker, a golden retriever, and Gizzy, a shi-poo! Now, if y’all know me you’ll know I LOVE dogs, so I always ask my couples all about their sweet fur babies!

I loved how Alexis incorporated a lot of sentimental aspects into their wedding day. She was SUPER close to her grandfather, who sadly passed away in 2020. She was his first grandchild, and he even bought her very first baby outfit! So, to keep him close on her big day, she had a picture of the two of them together on her bouquet. Alexis also wore her grandmother’s ring, the very same one that her grandfather gave her grandmother. It truly is the special touches that make a wedding day even more unique and memorable, and I’m a sucker for all of it!

On their wedding day, both Alexis and Tyler decided to do first looks with their parents before seeing each other. Tyler had a first look with his mom, and Alexis had a first look with her dad (scroll for the adorable photos)! And honestly, first looks with parents might be one of my new favorite things! Another fun twist A & T did was having two Flower Dude’s– Blake and Evan! After the sweet outdoor wedding ceremony, everyone made their way to the reception and it was a party!! A & T LOVED dancing with all their friends and family, while always taking care of each other throughout the evening. It was such a special wedding, and I’m so grateful I was a part of it!
