Did you know that brand photography increases brand recognition, trust, AND adds to the perceived value of what you’re selling? If you’re considering booking a branding shoot, you might be wondering: “What is the client experience like for a branding photoshoot?” Well dears, that’s what I’m here to tell you about today! No one likes the feeling of going into an experience unsure of what to expect, so this guide will hopefully alleviate some of that. Plus, it’s a great way for you to start mentally preparing the details we’ll need for your business branding shoot.
First of all, I want to clarify that every single one of my branding shoots is WAY more than just a portrait session and 100 photos delivered in a gallery. I work really closely with my branding clients in the weeks leading up to their shoot to ensure that their branding, branding positioning, and messaging is super concise and consistent. Without those things, branding photos are pretty pointless. So, when you book a branding photoshoot with me, you’re actually getting the photos, plus consultations on your brand positioning as a whole! Talk about added value!
The Pre-Planning
All of my branding photoshoot clients receive an initial one-on-one consultation and several planning calls. For the most part, I’ll do most of the legwork when it comes to planning and orchestrating the shoot, from location scouting to model searches to wardrobe planning, you get the picture. Basically, if you think you’re too busy to plan a branding photoshoot, you’re in the right place. Because you won’t have to lift a finger. Worried you won’t know what’s going on during the planning process? Don’t be! I’ll keep you in the loop via email and during our planning calls. Actually, you might even feel like some of my past clients and ask me to STOP emailing so much (I love over-communicating instead of under-communicating)! But hey, that’s not a bad problem to have!
Planning a branding photoshoot takes considerable time and effort, so I recommend booking branding photoshoots AT LEAST 30 days out, and about 6-8 weeks before you need the photos. For example, if you have a brand relaunch planned for June 30, I’d recommend scheduling your photoshoot for the 2nd week of June, and contacting me no later than mid-May. Keep in mind that all of my branding photoshoot subscription clients get priority booking!
The Process
After booking a branding photoshoot session with me, I’ll send you a questionnaire to learn more from you about:
- Setting the date
- Choosing the location
- Deciding on props
We go over all of this via my branding questionnaire, which I’ll send you right after booking. Then, we’ll chat about it again during our first one-on-one call. After each step, I’ll send verification emails so you can confirm everything. As always, throughout the process you can reach out with questions via email!
When you book a branding photoshoot, we discuss way more than just the date and time of your session. I want to learn about your short and long-term business goals. Why? Because I want to make sure these photos will last you for a long time! I’ll also ask you about what your imagery needs are, what you’ll be using the images for, any upcoming marketing pushes or pivots, product/service launches, and any other major changes your business might be going through. What does this mean? You’re getting more images that will last, without spending extra session time on photos you won’t even use (who even has time for that). I don’t want these images to just work for a few months, and then you’ll need more (unless that’s what you need, in which case my branding photo subscription might be a better fit for you)!
I know one of the most intimidating parts of a branding photoshoot is what to do with the images afterwards. My branding photoshoot experience includes guiding you on how to optimize your marketing and branding with your new photos. I want you to get the absolute most out of a branding photoshoot with me, so I’m here to help you every step of the way.
