I recently had the privilege to capture newborn photography at home for Taylor & Justin, and their angelic baby Avery. Their at home session was absolutely stunning! I hardly have the words to describe just how beautiful the entire afternoon was. As first-time parents, I wanted to make sure T & J felt super comfortable with Avery, and what better place to feel comfortable than at home? Besides being comfortable, here are a few more reasons why I recommend at home newborn photography sessions…
1. You Get to Stay Home
I’ll just cut to the chase– you don’t have to leave your home. Honestly, you probably won’t even want to leave your home in the first few days and weeks. Planning an at home newborn photography session means you and your sweet baby don’t have to go anywhere, or deal with the logistics of traveling outside your home.
2. Your Comfort is Key
Where else could you feel more comfortable than in your own home? The sweet feelings of starting a new routine at home with your baby are precious. Planning an in home newborn photography session means you can keep your daily routine exactly as-is. Another part of your (and baby’s) comfort is privacy. Staying home means you can put baby down for a nap, change your clothes (or baby’s diaper), wherever you want. No rushing around, stressed about finding a changing table somewhere, or trying to remember to bring extra outfits “just in case”. Being home means everything is easy and comfortable when it comes to your session.
3. Capture the Memories
Your home– the place where you’ll spend late nights cuddling, feeding, and changing your baby. Lifetime memories will be made here. Dancing in the kitchen, reading your childhood books, and cooking family dinners; all the little moments that create your beautiful life. Plus, what better place to have your baby’s first photography session than in their very own nursery? I know y’all have planned everything out to the last detail, so capture it exactly as it is in this moment. Newborn photography at home is real life, it’s precious. I’m sure you’re probably dressed a little differently, and the countertops have been cleared, but you’ll still look back on these images and remember real-life moments.
