The winter season can be discouraging to my brides when talking about engagement sessions. The lack of sun at times and no bright green color from the grass, or even the jewel-toned hues of fall foliage… However, a winter engagement session means you get an extra excuse to cozy up with your new fiancé, wear your favorite sweater, and get some gorgeous photos. Honestly, you can’t even tell that it was quite chilly while Andy and Jocelyn snuggled up for their shoot!

On the day of their engagement photoshoot, these two traveled down from Carlyle, Illinois with their two precious pups, Pearl and Little One! (Side Note: If you haven’t figured this out yet, I’m paw-obsessed and if you bring your fur-babies just plan on me loving on them for a while!!) I may or may not be partial because we also have a golden retriever and their Pearl looks so much like our Ellie Mae!!

A & J planned their engagement session at The Historic Bell Hill in Cobden, which is also where they will be saying ‘I Do”! I absolutely loved being able to run around this gorgeous venue with them, exploring and chatting about their big plans. One of my favorite parts about a winter engagement photoshoot session is that we hardly ever have crowds! It makes the whole experience so intimate and much more romantic.

While it was pretty cold, the views from the balcony were worth the wintery chill!! Andy and Jocelyn are proof that you can have gorgeous images regardless of the season and temperature. Jocelyn was such a trooper, because she really wanted to wear a her short-sleeved dress! In between our time outside, we also took full advantage of The Historic Bell Hill’s gorgeous indoor spots. It helped warm us all up! We do have warmer temps in our sights for their September wedding!!
